Michigan small businesses have been under duress since the pandemic has started. Government-mandated shutdowns have cost Michigan companies billions in operating costs and potential profits. One of the many lessons learned was that small businesses thrive when they are open and allowed to exercise competitive competition with less government oversight and overreach.
Only when small businesses are allowed to operate in such ways will they attract and retain the talent necessary to return Michigan to a leading economic state.

Michigan continues to lose its population. More importantly, Michigan continues to lose young adults to other states. As a result, Michigan lost one US Congressional seat, redistricting occurred, and there is still no answer to the mass exodus out of Michigan.
We need to provide more jobs, opportunities, and stability for our workforce. When most adults who can work are working, it stimulates the economy in a healthy economic way. To do this, we need to address the current state of inflation. We need to reevaluate our national energy crises and dependence on foreign recourses. We also need to lessen our dependency on foreign economies. We need to put the American economy first.
I am horrified by the talk of defunding the police. Defunding the police makes no sense whatsoever. Everyone knows that the police are the first called, the first on the scene, and the last to leave the scene in an emergency. We depend on local, state, and federal law enforcement every day. There should never be the talk of defunding any law enforcement agency ever.

Classrooms are for education, not social agendas. Parents have the right to know what their child is learning in school. During the pandemic, parents got an eye-opening experience on what their children were learning. There has to be more transparency in education. Michigan spent over 13 billion on education in 2022. This makes up the second highest expenditure in Michigan behind health care. The majority of money allotted for education should go into classroom learning and student support services.
Veterans and senior citizens deserve the best treatment from our government. Unfortunately, America does not have the best care record for its veterans. The state of Michigan must be a leader in veteran care, benefits, and services. This should not be an issue, and our leaders must do better. Senior citizens should not have to pay a tax on money already being taxed. The pension tax puts much unneeded financial stress on seniors. They already have worked and made intelligent decisions with their money. They should not be penalized financially by the government.
